Abstract

The paper presents an updated approach of the social media role in the contemporary social movements. Drawing from the explanation of some viewpoints about interaction in the social media, a brief review about social movements theory and their implications is presented, emphasizing in their relationship with communication processes and specific storytellings.. Finally, some symbolic resources used by social movements in diverse realities are described.

Psychologist specializing in communication psychology and professional journalist. Graduated from Master's degree in CC. CC, from the Universidad Inca Garcilaso de la Vega (Peru). Specialization studies in CIESPAL and the University of Chile. He is the author of 15 books published in Peru and articles in 17 books in Peru, Switzerland, Ecuador, Spain, Germany and the United States. Professor and researcher at the Universidad feminine del sacré Corazón.
